Grant Property are coming to Strathclyde University

We are one of Scotland's largest providers of student accommodation with more than fifteen years experience so this week we are very excited to be sharing our knowledge in the West at Glasgow's Strathclyde University. We'll be visiting this Thursday, 26th March.

For students who haven't yet found a flat for next year this is the ideal opportunity to get help finding one.

Our team will be at level four, The Scene, from 10am – 3pm. They are on hand to help you and your flatmates find a property within your budget and in the area that you want to live, with the right number of rooms for you. As well advice on the properties that we have to offer we have some great freebies on offer for students who register with us on Thursday.

We'll save you 5p many times over with our stylish reusable Grant Property canvas bags filled with offers and info about our properties, but that's not all. We've teamed up with La Favorita Delivered, soon to open in the West end's Gibson Street, who will be bringing you their delicious pizza as well as great offers for the new shop and sugar free caffeine drink Dynamite.

Our generosity doesn't stop there we'll also have our own photo booth on site so you can have a free photo for your new flat and much, much more...

We hope to see you on the day but if you can't make it you can get in touch via our website, by phoning or popping into your local branch on Great Western Road or on Facebook or Twitter where we are always happy to answer any questions.

Student Advice: Top tips to minimise deadline stress

Plan – If you have lots of deadlines it can feel overwhelming so you'll feel better when you know exactly what you need to do. Make a list of everything you need to do.

Prioritise – whether it's exams, reports or essays it's important to work out which you need to do first. There will always be some tasks you would rather avoid but don't do it.

Make space – having a designated space to study in is so important. It helps you to organise your materials and to separate your study time mentally. If your flat is too busy explore the library. University library's can get really busy around deadlines so check out your local public library too.

Structure you time – plan an approach that works for you. If you're a morning person get started early, if not plan to work later into the day. Play to your strengths, don't simply follow what everyone else is doing.

Plan to eat – it's easy to get this wrong, especially during exams! If you're studying at home it can be tempting to snack too much, but if you're stressed you might not feel like eating at all. Eating well can have such a big impact on how you feel so in the run up to a deadline plan what you'll eat. Doing a proper week's grocery shop is a good idea so that you don't have to put time and thought each day into your meals. Write a list, setting out what you'll have for meals, as well as snacks. This isn't the time to start a new diet, or learn to cook gourmet meals. Keep it simple and make sure you have some favourite goodies in. If you don't have a car it's worth asking a friend who does to take you to a supermarket in exchange for petrol money. Alternatively, consider getting your shopping online delivered to your home.

Let the good times roll – deadlines can become all consuming but your life will go on afterwards and it's good to have something to look forward to. Plan something for yourself whether it's something with friends nearby, visiting another city to catch up with people you don't see often or planning in some family time.
Get out – if you play sport or exercise in the run up to deadlines you might not have the time for your usual commitment but even half an hour of exercise will release endorphins (the happy hormone.) Even a walk around the block will clear your head.

Share - if you're studying it's likely your friends and flatmates will be too. Block in some time to get together and take some time out.

Don't panic – If you set up a study timetable three weeks ago, but haven't managed to stick to it and the fear is now setting in panicking won't help. Deadlines aren't easy to manage but remember you earned your place on your course so you and your tutors think you're capable of what is being asked. Prioritise with the time you have and speak to your tutors, if you are struggling they are there to help so ask.
