Bank Holiday Weekend What's On

It’s very cultured in the ‘Deen. There are two nights of The Mikado left at HMT; Friday and Saturday night. And the comteporary dance show that’s been getting everyone talking, 5 Soldiers arrives at Gordon Barracks.

These are Exciting times for design in Dundee. The  inuagrual Design Festival taking place in the iconic West Ward Works, the former home of DC Thomson Print works. 

At The Tolbooth in Stirling tonight treat yourself to the sound of the incredible Carol Laula.
National Theatre Scotland kick the bank holiday weekend off with Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour at the Lomond Auditorium. Tickets £23, 5.30pm and 9pm.

The hot ticket of the weekend is a secret in Edinburgh, The Hidden Door Festival is on this weekend in Leith. Expect lots of colabaritve greatness happening with some of the city’s most innovative artists. Find out what’s on 12 – 6pm free.  

Hey, Hey, Hey take over Rock City in Nottingham. Get together for some crazy dancing and alternative music.

How to celebrate your exams where you are

Exams over? It’s time to celebrate! If not it’s the weekend and it’s probably time to get a well-earned study break in.

Pittodrie stadium’s not only home to AFC this weekend, it’s home to The Great Grampian beer festival too! On Friday and Saturday night taste a huge variety of beers. There’s something for every taste. Find out more here.

Geordie Shore glam comes to Dundee this weekend! Celebrate the end of exams with Geordie Shore’s very own Gaz at Tropicana.

Get some contemporary art at the Stirling Smith Art Gallery. Explore the changes to art over the past 100 years. Or head to the Thistles Shopping Centre where The Crafters Roadshow is.

National Theatre Scotland brings home the play that delighted critics at last year’s Edinburgh Festival. Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour is at the SECC this weekend.
There’s more opportunity for a pint of something interesting, in Edinburgh. On Friday and Saturday night it’s the Summerhall Beer FestivALE. Expect local brewers at the arts venue.

It’s the first time he’s been on tour for 4 years. Eddie Izzard’s at Force Majeure at Lakeside Arts Centre in Nottingham tonight. Tickets are just £14.

What's on this weekend

This weekend Ben Ottewell, formerly of Gomez, takes his Acoustic Tour to Café Drummonds in Aberdeen. Doors open at 7pm tonight.

It’s Simply Acoustic, a one man orchestra on Saturday night in Dundee. Mr Black is at Westport Bar from ten until 12.

In Stirling go and see 5 Soldiers. This contemporary dance act has been gaining praise from military audiences for simply getting ‘it.’ It’s on Friday and Saturday 7.30 pm tickets £5- £10.

Jamie Jones will be keeping Glasgow jumping until 2am on Saturday morning. Love Action presents Jamie Jones. 

It’s a night of Celtic fun at the National Museum of Edinburgh. Idlewild are playing an acoustic set and craft activities from Red Door Gallery. 

In Nottingham Graeme of Thrones is getting a run for its money. Graeme of Thrones is on at the Nottingham Playhouse, see it before the lawsuit kicks in!

Exam Stress begone - it's our guide to what's on this weekend.

Exams and deadlines might be all around but it’s the weekend. We all know carving out some time to let your hair down makes the study hours more effective.

This Friday and Saturday Breakfast at Tiffany’s comes to HMT! Colin Ingram and Peter Kane present a Curve Theatre Leicester Production and put Holly Golightly on your stage.

Shake the stress of at The Union in Dundee. It’s hosting POP! You can have a drink, enjoy a bouncy castle and get some free candy floss. On Saturday night Ska funk rockers The Purple Felts are playing Conroy’s Basement on Saturday night.

On Saturday it’s time to educate your palate, some of the biggest distillers and independent bottlers are gathering at the Highland Hotel for the Stirling Whisky Festival 2016. It’s a great chance to learn lots and talk to the experts. Tickets are £27.50 and there are morning or afternoon sessions.
Tonight and tomorrow it’s the Byres Road fashion show. If you’re not already in the know find out about the fashion the West End has to offer. All proceeds go to charity and the show will illustrate the eclectic mix that the West End has to offer! @Tramway art show continues too.

For a tenner you can see the classic epic The Illiad at the Royal Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh, every night until next Saturday. It’s Chris Hannans’s adaptation of the famous play set during the Trojan War. 


If you’re in Nottingham this Friday meet Geordie Shores own Big Brother winner Scotty T! You’ll have to jump on a train but he’s at Popworld in Derby on Friday night for their #hashtag party.
