Our guide to what's on this weekend, other than catching Pokémon!

It’s getting hot in here…hopefully! There’s a chance of sunshine this weekend which is exciting, we’re all for a little bit more Scottish summer. If you aren’t heading overseas there’s still plenty happening.

It’s not a sandcastle, a surfer or an ice cream cone but it is good clean fun. You might not expect to find the circus at the beach, but this weekend Russia’s finest in the form of Moscow State Circus are at the beach. Tickets cost £10 - £36.

Dundee golf fans need not despair, the golf isn’t over just because the celebs have packed up and left Troon with the silverware. It’s the senior open Championship at Carnoustie this weekend.

If you’re in Stirling there’s a chance to be philanthropic by raising money for Ochil Mountain Rescue. Where you ask? It’s the Charity Art Exhibition from 9-5pm at the Gordon R McFarlane Art Gallery this weekend in Alloa.

Get fit in Glasgow! Get your dance on, Dance with Attitude classes give you the chance to try out every kind of dance from £4.25 for bundles of classes. You’ll be Louie Spence in no time.

It’s dancing shoes time in Nottingham too. Charity music festival Deerstock is in Newton and tickets are still available. Local bands get to come together for the weekend from 12pm – 1am and camping is available too.

There’s an arty vibe in Edinburgh too. It’s the Bohemia Art Craft Design Fair on Saturday from 10.30om – 4.30pm. Indulge with some retail therapy at Greyfriars Kirk where you’ll find hand crafted goodies from some of Scotland’s greatest crafters.

Our guide to what's on where you are this weekend!

It’s Glasgow Fair this weekend, which means Monday off and a chance to get together in Glasgae. Expect a party atmosphere, especially as the final of the Homeless World Cup in George Square will be on Saturday. 

It’s the Glasgow Mela at Kelvingrove Park this Sunday from 12pm. Pokemon Go fans can get some historical comic culture at the oldest known comic, Glasgow Looking Glass is on show at Comic Invention among other graphic narratives. Just £5 on the door at The Hunterian near Glasgow University.

Through in the East Pop Rocks brings 80’s and 90’s bangers at Electric Circus in Edinburgh from 10.30pm – 3.00 am on Saturday night. Just £5 before midnight, £6 after. 

It’s the one-day Pandorafest at Duncarron Medieval Village Carron Valley on Saturday. There’s a great line-up and festivities run from 11am til midnight. Tickets are from £20.

There’s more comic history in Dundee. It’s Draw the Line: Old Masters to The Beano at McManus and it’s FREE. Our favourite type of event.

In Aberdeen Scotland’s favourite ladyboys are back for Summer 2016. The Ladyboys of Bangkok are at the Sabai Pavilion until Friday 29th July.

If you’re around Nottingham get a load of West Bridgford Dramatic Society as they put on a series of One Act plays on the themes of misunderstanding and relationships. 7.30pm – 9.30 pm, tickets £8.

So, even if you’re planning your weekend out in PokeStops there’s some pretty cool stuff going on in the less augmented world too.

Your guide to not going to #TITP2016 this weekend

This weekend it’s the biggest music festival Scotland has to offer. If you’re not Strathallan bound, fear not there’s lots of comedy, music and fun happening this Scottish summer weekend.

Get retro in Aberdeen with The Tivoli Theatre, on Trinity Street this weekend. If you’re up North be transported back to the 80’s. This hilarious time travel experience will cost you just £16.50 and is told through the eyes of the main character, Corey. Join him in reliving the highs and lows of his youth, 80’s style to hilarious effect at 7 pm Friday and Saturday.

See the some of the latest, as well as some of the more established talent in Dundee this weekend. It’s the 50th Photographic Society: Annual Print Exhibition & Competition 9:30 – 5pm and it’s FREE too. 

In Stirling enjoy a bite to eat at the River House from 7pm – 10pm and enjoy Glasgow Planet Live too. They’re in residence every Friday night this summer.

Glasgow Derren Brown takes his Miracle tour to The King’s Theatre at Glasgow tickets range from £30.40 - £54.40 and doors open at 7:30 pm.

In Edinburgh Geordie funny lass, Sara Milllican is at the Festival Theatre with her Outsider tour. She’s The People’s Choice Queen of Comedy and well worth seeing if you can get a ticket. 8pm – 10.30pm on Saturday and Sunday night.

It’s BFest on Saturday in Bingham, just outside Nottingham. See a great mix of local bands including a fabulous King of Pop impersonator Ben: Michael Jackson who’s a headlining. Adults - £17.50, Under 12’s - £10, Family Ticket 2+2 - £47.50 and children under 5 will have free entry.

Our guide to where to move your dancing feet this weekend

This summer’s evening in Aberdeen house and R’n’B are the sounds of Friday night. At Institute in Aberdeen DJ DAMo Aye and DH Homealone will keep the party going until 3am.

If you’re down the coast there’s a chance to see one of Scotland’s hottest shows right now! Dundee National Theatre Scotland’s much acclaimed Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour is at the Dundee Rep from 7.30 pm £16 - £18.

There’s a whole lot more culture on show at the Pathfoot Building in Stirling. Jon Schueler’s Sea to Sky is on show to mark 100 years since the artist’s birth. He’s an expressionist who painted in a studio on Scotland’s own Mallaig for five years. He was inspired by the Scottish coastline and it’s pretty funky, abstract stuff.

Comic Con is back! It’s the Glasgow Comic Con at the Royal Concert Hall, indulge in the most fanciful dress up and find other comic geeks this weekend.

With sleight of hand, optical illusion goodness and a whole load more of never tell secrets the Edinburgh International Magic Festival is coming to Edinburgh. There are workshops and performances from this Friday until next across the city.

Belle of Ibiza, Aussie Late Nite Tuff Guy headlines with a 4 hour set at La Belle Angele in Edinburgh from 11pm on Saturday night right through to 3am. Tickets are just a tenner and the night’s set to be huge! Hot Chip’s very own Felix is at Sneaky Pete’s in Edinburgh on Friday to, tickets £5.

Don’t miss MUZAK at Volt Club this weekend in Notts. Get down to big grooves until 3am. Early bird tickets are only £4 but they’re still just £6 on the night.
