Lifestyle

A city whose slogan is ‘One City, Many Discoveries’, does well to maintain this reputation because, like most Scottish cities, it is steeped in history which blends well with the modern era.

Also, with more sunshine than any other Scottish city (Average 1523 hours of sunshine per year), it is not hard to see why many people choose Dundee as the city where they want to work, play or study!

The city has produced many things that people might not be aware of, such as the Beano, Dandy, The Broons and Oor Wullie comics, which were all created in the D.C. Thomson headquarters.

It is also quite deeply involved in the video game industry, playing its part in the creation of two of the world’s most well known games; Lemmings and Grand Theft Auto.

Nightlife

Dundee is rich with a vibrant nightlife as it is quite a studenty town with just a few streets separating the University of Dundee and the University of Abertay. 

There are quite a few clubs to choose from to dance the night away, but the three main clubs are Fat Sams, Liquid, and the Reading Rooms. 

All of which are quite a hotspot for students during the week with cheap club nights like ‘WILD! Fridays’ at Liquid. 

But it’s not all about the students as there are many bars all around Dundee where you can kick back and relax, such as the Malbar cocktail bar at Malmaison.

Entertainment

Dundee offers a lot to its residents and its visitors in the way of things to do and great days out that are perfect for anyone - old or young. 

You can learn about some of Dundee’s history at Broughty Castle; go and see a film in the Cineworld in Dundee, you can scale walls at the Avertical World climbing centre, and if you are feeling really adventurous, then you can face off against your friends in a laser tag battle at Battlefield Live.
