The semester has started but there’s still loads to do before the
heavy coursework sets in! Or perhaps you’re already needing a break from
the early starts and late nights! Whatever the reason, there
is lots to do across the UK this weekend.
The Tunnels
in Aberdeen plays host to Wheatus on October 2nd - so “come with me
Friday, don’t say maybe”.
Meanwhile the Flaming Tease Burlesque and Cabaret
show celebrates their fourth birthday at Fubar in Stirling on Saturday
the 3rd. With tickets from £6, this is a night not to be missed!
For
an alternative to a night out, visit the Edinburgh playhouse this
Friday for a production of The Bodyguard, straight from London’s West
End!
If you are more into music, more specifically rap and grime, then you might want to catch Westwood at Shanghai club. The Radio DJ left BBC Radio 1 in 2013 after nearly 20 years and has moved to Capital Xtra on Saturday nights but still puts on one heck of a show.
If it isn't sold out then you should definitely head down to the Oran Mor on Saturday 3rd October for Rae Morris. Her debut album came out earlier this year and has garnered much praise from critics and even scoring a 77 on Metacritic. She has promise to be the next Ellie Goulding with a hint of Florence and the Machine so she is definitely worth checking out.

In Dundee you can watch the Rugby World Club live in Liar at DUSA
including the Scotland vs South Africa and England vs Australia matches,
both on Saturday evening.
In Glasgow, the Barras
welcome the Braw Wee Fair for all things art and design on Saturday from
10am ’til 5pm. Rae Morris is also playing at Oran Mor on Friday 2nd October, so go and see the singer who performed at Glastonbury and is only 19 years old!
Meanwhile, in Nottingham, The Doghouse hosts the
Aces High Festival, showcasing independent and underground artists from
across the UK. This small festival takes place both Saturday and Sunday
so no need to make any other weekend plans. Purchase a £10 day ticket
for either day or a full weekend pass for £15!
