Our guide: What’s on where you are this weekend

In Aberdeen you can scare yourself stupid and stimulate your intellect while supporting a northerner this weekend. Orcadian Amy Liptrot discusses her memoir Outrun at Waterstones, 7 pm on Friday night and The Circus of Horrors, London After Midnight comes to the Music Hall.

Along the coast in Dundee is bringing home some great Scottish art Dundee All Systems … Go exhibition opens at Duncan of Jordanstone, a moving exhibition. For fun later on Sin City moves to a new home at Liquid from 11pm.

Live music is where it’s at in Stirling, it’s on of only a handful of coffee house sessions in Scotland so make the most of it. Bella Figura play at 1pm on Friday afternoon, kick of your weekend well.

There’s more culture in Glasgow, and it’s discounted for students. For just nine English pounds you can see Beckett’s Endgame at the Citz.

You’ve got the chance to get altruistic in the capital. Raise money for refugee action and be entertained by Rumble in the Jungle at Studio 24 £5 entry.

On Saturday night The Lurkers hit the stage in Nottingham at The Maze on Saturday night. Ramones inspired London 70’s rockers will keep you bopping into the wee small hours.
