Landlord removed windows and front door from pregnant teenager's flat in rent row

A recent article found on STV website reported that a landlord removed the windows and front door of the home of a teenager who was eight months pregnant. Property developer Steven Simpson, 48, left Michaela Landless, 18, crying hysterically in her dressing gown, Cupar Sheriff Court was told during the trial.

This eviction was unlawful and there are sufficient laws in place to protect tenants. However, it was reported that Mr Simpson ordered his three sons to rip out windows and the front door of her two-bedroom flat in the Fife town after she struggled to pay the £500-a-month rent.
