How to Keep You and Your Home Safe this Christmas...

We recently read an article on New Student that highlighted the dangers of letting people into your home. It is worth taking into consideration the message from the article- don't let anyone into your property that you don't know.

Keeping you, your possessions and home safe and secure should always be a priority. At this time of year it is especially important. Here are some simple yet useful tips on keeping your flat safe:

      • Please remember to keep doors and windows shut and locked when necessary.

      • If you have a security alarm, always set it when you go out. Programmable timers for lamps and radios are always useful; they don’t cost much and are easy to set. Why not invest in a couple?

      • Let us know if you plan to be away from your property for more than a week. We can inspect the property on your behalf whilst you are gone, to ensure it is OK.

      • Please remember that you must continue to pay your rent, on time, even if you are away from your property. Fees will be charged to you if you pay late, so to save your money, make adequate provision to cover all rent.

We have also compiled a number of short 'Help Videos' that cover a range of common household issues ranging from how to prevent mould build up to how to deal with electrical faults. We hope these videos help you whenever you are stuck.

We regularly post news, videos, discussions and competitions to our Facebook and Twitter page and we we would love for you to join us.

      Maintaining safety in your property

Grant Property have a series of help videos to give you some tips you may find useful when moving into your new property.

One of the most important tips we will probably give you, is in this video. In this video, Philip from Grant Property, highlights how important it is to always make sure that your smoke alarm and fire alarm are always active, and to make you change the batteries when it is necessary to do so.

I'm sure we won't have to explain to you what could happen if there was an emergency one night and you have no working alarm. So please take the time to watch this video and share with your friends if you have found it useful.

If you have any questions regarding our help videos, or if there are any other questions you wish to ask, please post them to our Facebook Page, and a member of our team will get back to you.

      Fire safety in your property

Grant Property have a series of help videos to give you some tips you may find useful when moving into your new property.

Strathclyde Fire and Rescue report that they are called to attend over 2,000 fires in homes across Strathclyde each year.

This is why it is always worth considering fire safety at home. Here are some tips on how to prevent the risk of a fire in your property.

Philip from Grant Property, takes you through different ways to prevent an emergency such as a fire, by showing you examples of what could cause, and tips on what you should be doing every night before going to bed.

If you have any questions regarding our help videos, or if there are any other questions you wish to ask, please post them to our Facebook Page, and a member of our team will get back to you.
