Tropical Summer Smoothie

This week's cool recipe involves a great trick to blend coconut water into your smoothies for extra hydration.

We've used tropical fruit here for a summer flavour but the trick will work with any savoury or sweet smoothie you fancy! This recipe is quick and easy and will make four servings, ideal for your whole flat.

If you've never tried it before, coconut's a great source of potassium which will help regulate your blood pressure and enhances your body's ability to hydrate too.

You will need
  • 500ml pineapple chunks
  • 250ml mango chunks
  • 250ml coconut water frozen into ice cubes
  • Half a banana
  • 125ml plain yoghurt
  • 10ml fresh lime juice
  • Blender
How it's done
  • Blend fruit together
  • Add coconut water ice cubes and lime juice and blend together until smooth.
  • Serve!
Top Tip

Using frozen fruit is economical, is less fuss and produces chilled drinks. If you are using fresh fruit chill in the freezer for an hour before making.
