What's on this weekend?

It’s Children in Need on the telly tonight, and we fully expect that lots of you will have spent the day in fancy dress, doing daft stuff for kids around the world. So we know there’s the option of staying in, in front of the telly with a Dominos and watching that – but since #StormAbigail’s barely lived up to her name why not hit the town? Friday the 13th can’t be that unlucky!

Down South in Nottingham it’s The Media Conference with speakers from the BBC, Huffington Post and Vice among many more familiar faces. Tickets are just £7 and it’s on 10-4pm on Sunday. Get yours here.

Out in Edinburgh this weekend? Enjoy folk singer and all round lad Beans on Toast at The Voodoo Rooms.

In the West Californian trio The Mountain Goats play Glasgow School of Art at 7 pm tonight – lyrical genius abound. The Mighty Boosh creator Noel Fielding is in town too, see him at The Kings Theatre for some of the wall chatter on Sunday.

Italian superstar Mario Piu brings techno and trance as part of Xtra at Buskers tonight from 8 – 2:30am. If a pint and a laugh’s more your thing hit the Dundee Rep for four stand up acts at 8pm.

Up North Kevin Bridges is back in town at the AECC as part of his massive tour, and it’s the Glasgow boys birthday tonight too. At the other end of town Geordie stand up Chris Ramsey is at the Aberdeen Music Hall as part of his All Growed Up tour. On Saturday night 2manydjs play Let It Bleed at The Forum.
